Letting go: how to release control in your interior design business

Soooo we’ve been trying to sell our downtown Chicago condo for a month now.

It’s newly painted, staged perfectly, and priced right.

The location is also unbeatable. It’s walking distance to The Loop AKA the business mecca of Chicago, has large sidewalks, ample street parking (unheard of in Chicago) and it *just so happens* to be the street where they park Jeremy Allen White's trailer when filming The Bear.

Yep - this place is a DREAM. Yet there’s one slight problem…

The market in downtown Chicago just isn’t hot right now 😳

With the high interest rates there are a lot less people buying, and with so many people now WFH, there are even less of them who have to live steps from the Loop. And the further you live from downtown, the less money you’re paying per square foot.

Le sigh.

You may wonder why I’m walking you through my real estate dilemma, but it’s because it’s actually suuper relatable to your interior design business.

In your design business, you can do literally every single thing perfectly, but there are always going to be things that are out of your control.

And if you ruminate and stew over the things you can’t do anything about, you’re wasting precious time and energy that could be spent moving on and creating more of what you want:

  • Clients who want to work with you

  • Designs that inspire

  • Revenue that fuels your business

Friend, I want you to make the best use of your gifts.

Which is why in this video, I break down the various parts of your business, and bring to the surface what parts of it you can control…

…and which pieces of it you just will never be able to.

Hint: You actually have more control than you think, but you’re focusing on the wrong things!

If you know you’ve got that inner control freak running your life, this week’s video is for you.

Watch the video above to learn how to release control, and wait and see how it transforms your business for the better.
