How To Set Boundaries Your Design Clients Will Follow

The other day I had a conversation with one of my clients about their clients.

It went a little something like…

Client: “My client doesn’t respect my boundaries.”

Jeannie: “Tell me a little bit more.”

C: “Well they call and text at all hours of the evening, and even drag their feet on paying me, sometimes for up to a month. It’s in my contract that I get paid on time. Why aren’t they paying me on time?”

J: “So when they don’t pay you on time, what happens?”

C: “Well then they owe me for basically two months, because they owe me for the month they didn’t pay for, and then they owe me for even more hours for the next month.”

J: 🫡

C: 🫤

Oh boy.

I think we all can get behind the importance of having effective boundaries.

But I also think there’s a big misconception about what boundaries are and how to actually get your clients to follow them.

So because I want you to be the very best version of you in both your work and personal life, I wanted to eliminate any confusion as it relates to boundaries.

In this video, I covered how to set boundaries your clients will actually follow.

Here’s What I Covered In Today’s Video

  1. Why boundaries are essential for an interior designers business

  2. Why your clients aren’t currently following your boundaries

  3. How to set boundaries so your design clients follow them

I promise you, you’re going to get a lot out of this video today.

So grab your notebook and your favorite ballpoint pen, and get ready to take some notes.

Because your boundaries are going to go from weak and messy into clear and confident.
