Five Core Business Skills That May Be Missing From Your Design Business

Prior to launching my coaching biz I spent almost a decade in "Corporate America".

The thing is, though, the role I was in and the company I was a part of wasn’t your stereotypical life-sucking 9-5.

I actually worked for a financial firm that specialized in molding and guiding small business owners to become successful and profitable in their businesses.

Which means instead of sitting in on endless status updates, boring tech decks, and directionless brainstorming sessions…

I was sitting in on mentorings and trainings that were actually interesting, such as:

✔️ How to leverage your calendar and prioritize your tasks for maximum productivity

✔️ How to warm up desirable prospects and get introduced to new ones

✔️ What business data to review and how to uncover areas of opportunity in revenue

This role really gave a first-hand look to not only how successful small businesses are built, but also, what keeps them in business long-term.

Now, I learned so much about growing and managing a successful business in the nine years I was with that firm.

But of everything I learned, I’ve found there are five core business skills that designers were never taught, whereupon learning and implementing these skills have created measurable success in their businesses.

To give you some insight, I went live this week and dove into these five key business skills, and explained why they’re so critical to operating a profitable and successful business.

These skills transformed how I approach business, and can do the same for you.
