How To Ask For Money Confidently
Money used to be a really confusing topic for me.
My earliest experience of making a lot of it came when I was about 20 years old and my babysitting side-hustle began flourishing.
I had repeat clients, a process for scheduling, and it was not uncommon to open my texts or emails and have a new inquiry in my inbox… asking for me to hold a date that was already booked 🥴
While my little side-gig was taking off, there was one major piece that I lacked confidence in that held me back from really having a successful business... and that's money.
In a way, I was doing quite well financially for the times (I seemed to be the only college student I knew with money of their own) but I also was suuuper insecure when it came to all money conversations.
→ I still didn’t have a clue how much I should charge
→ I never knew when to talk about it
→ And I always tripped over my words when asking for it
The busier I got, however, the more apparent it was that gaining confidence in this area would lead me to having a successful and thriving babysitting business.
And with a lot of determination, I made this weakness in myself a strength of mine.
Now since then, I have really had to grow in the area of asking for money.
To make the money I desired to, I had to become confident asking for it from employers, and I had to become confident pricing my services to my clients.
Which means I had to study this stuff… a lot.
I’ve read lots of books on money, listened to countless podcasts on the topic, and have been coached on it more than once from my own coaches.
And all of this has put me in a position to be able to help you, too.
I don’t want a fear of asking for money to hold you back from making the money you’re meant to make in your design business.
So this week I went live and talked all about this topic.
Why you’re afraid to ask for money
Why you have to build your belief in it
How to begin to shift your perspective around it
If asking for money has ever brought you anxiety, you’re going to want to listen in.
And stay tuned for part 2 of this topic, where I teach you how to confidently ask for it DURING your design projects.
I’ll see you then.
